What does 'Harry and the Hendersons' teach us about living in a modern society?

I felt that 'Harry and the Hendersons had many metaphors about how we should live ethical in a modern world, and about how we should become one with nature in order to become one with ourselves.

Does anyone else have any insightes into the philosophy of 'Harry and the Hendersons'?
